why we exist


Tim Williams has recently moved to work for APM in Brisbane. Tim can no longer assist with private driving assessments, services to the general community or NDIS services. With over 10 years of Driving Assessment experience, and 14 years of Occupational Rehabilitation experience, Tim can assist with a wide range of complex cases. At this time, Tim is only able to accept driving assessment or vehicle modification referrals that are insurer or employer funded (Such as Workcover).  For new referrals, Tim can be contacted via APM (1300 967 522).

Our History:

Evolution Occupational Therapy is a practice that was established in early 2009, based in Brisbane, Queensland.  The principle aim of the business is to provide a high quality assessment service, providing Occupational Therapy (OT) Driving Assessments, driver rehabilitation and vehicle modifications.  Evolution additionally supplies a wide range of OT interventions, including treatment for people with mobility limitations, injury management consultancy, disability and aged care services (e.g. DVA) and Medicare Enhanced Primary Care services.

Our goal is to provide quality, timely, ethical and professional solutions.  For our clients, we aim to make the process as smooth as possible, from referral to report completion.

Tim WilliamsThe principal Occupational Therapist, Timothy Williams is a qualified OT driving assessor, and is accredited with OT Australia.  He has a strong background in occupational rehabilitation, injury management, rehabilitation services and functional assessment, having worked in this field since 2005.  Tim further expanded his skills with a 2 year secondment to the United Kingdom, working with London Borough of Camden, Transport for London and the NHS (UK National Health Service) on community mobility and transport schemes for people with wide ranges of disabilities, as well as patient’s requiring healthcare rehabilitation.   With his strong rehabilitation background, and international knowledge of driving and accessibility options, clients can be assured that they will receive high quality information and evidence based recommendations.

Tim’s experience and familiarity in working with both youth and older adult client groups, insurers, referrers and medical professionals is well supported by excellent communication skills, and exceptional medicolegal reporting standards.

Evolution Occupational Therapy additionally utilises the resources of several additional consultants, including Occupational Therapists, a Physiotherapist, an Audiologist, Psychology services and a Speech and Language Therapist.

Clients working with Evolution know that professionally and clinically sound, outcome-focused assessment and management is essential to minimise potential risks and exposure to safety issues. Combining individually tailored assessments, reports and interventions with a focus on independence, Evolution  achieves outcomes well ahead of the desired standard.
